Protected species survey assessment licensing and mitigation

Protected Species Survey is a regular Wildlife Partnership activity with frequent requests from developers and private clients for badger, water vole, otter, red squirrel and great crested newt surveys and less frequent requests for wildcat assessment. These surveys are done to ensure no negative impacts on UK or European protected species. We carry out surveys for large projects such as infrastructure projects including the M77/ Glasgow Southern Orbital and the Edinburgh Tram Line and small development sites such as Dixon Terrace in West Lothian. We also take on national and regional protected species surveys for agencies such as SNH and Site Condition Monitoring of European Protected sites designated partially or wholly for their protected species. For example we undertook Site Condition Monitoring for amphibians at a number of SSSIs in Dumfries and Galloway.
